Le char Panther de Grandmenil en route pour sa restauration

On en parle depuis plusieurs années. La restauration du char Panther de Grandmenil est sur les rails. La première grande étape a eu lieu ce matin. l’engin a été chargé sur un camion. Une opération délicate, menée par une entreprise de Vielsalm.

A highly anticipated restoration
For several years, the municipality of Manhay has been working on the file, but has come up against the problem of financing. "We have finally found the solution", explains Jérôme Voz, works alderman in Manhay. "We are working with a private company who offered to take care of the entire restoration, including transport, in exchange for the tank's engine and gearbox, very rare parts", he continues.

The restoration is expected to last eighteen months, ending in December 2027. This is when the tank should be installed in a building dedicated to it. A construction which will cost a little more than 500,000 euros, including 240,000 in subsidies.
