Crusader III 1/48

Hello Gents,

I've been hanging around this site awhile now and I want to share with you my current work - Tamiya's little superb Crusader. This one built straight from the box. Paintwork on this is almost complete.
A few things to work on like the fire extinguishers on the turret stowage box. What color were they painted? The tarp on the stowage box doesn't look/fit right, I think I'll remove it. I would like to hear some of your thoughts.

Hey Julian, nice to see you posting your stuff here as well 😉
The Crusader looks great, although I'm not fond of your tarps... the look a little 'stiff' to me.
Jan 🙂

Julian, very nice Crusader. Excellent paintjob and I love the weathering.
Indeed the tarps look a little shapeless. Also I would do some weathering on the shovel blade. Looking forward to your next work. 8)

Hi Julian,

That crusader looks very nice! Did you use pigments for the dust effects?
The narrow part of this type of fire extinguisher was unpainted brass. Green would be a safe bet for the main body.

I agree with the others that apart from the big one on the rear deck, the tarps look a bit stiff. And don't forget to get some dust on those tracks 🙂 .

Hi guys, appreciate your feedback very much!

Yep, I felt the tarps/stowage looked stiff. I'll remove it completely and redo them and as for the stowage on the turret bin, I've removed that also 😉

eelke, I used pastels and pigments for dust effects on the lower and upper hull. Dust effects on the turret using enamels. For the fire extinguishers, I went with green.

Thanks for looking. I'll post more of my work as time goes on.
