Hi,
New build:

I got this model as a prize and when doing researches on the vehicle I came across a picture that got me wanting to start the build immediately! 😛
The kit is now a bit old and the moulding is not up to DML's standards of nowadays but it is still a good base that does not require much improvement.
As a (big) bonus, sprue "Y" is included and features the gearbox/steering thingummy that had been forgotten in many other boxes of the sd.kfz. 250.
I will focus on the interior although very little should remain visible once the upper and lower hulls are assembled together.
I might place a LED inside the vehicle to compensate.
Here is the progress so far:
Lower hull

The sides and the drive sprockets are not glued. I will paint separately the elements from the undercarriage.

The tow hook supports were thick. I replaced them with alu foil.

I added the inflating valve to the wheels and 2 bolts on each "pad" of the drive sprockets.
[

The bars that were used for adjusting the tension on the idlers were drilled out and the tow hook was thinned down a bit and I added a chain made of copper wire.
Interior

1. The floor was imporved with lu fil on which I rolled the grove part of my knife.
2. I did not follow the instruction for positioning the seat but used an sd.kfz. 250/5 as a reference.
Roof
Outside:

I will not glue the antenna rack but drilled its screw holes.
Inside:

1. The opening system for the episcopes was taken from the spare box
2. The pads were forgotten by Dragon. I will put some green stuff to imorve their aspect.
3. On the pictures of the real thing, a handle can clearly be seen.
4.I redid the handle on the roof hatch.
5. On the picture, a spare episcope box is visible.
I still need to put some handles on the radios and their wiring.
Driver compartment

On the driver side the shutter will be partly open and the episcope is put downwards. I added its locking system and a metal bar.
I opened the small windows with a blade and will place some clear plastic sheet instead.
I will not detail this area any further as very little will be seen once everything is closed (even with a LED inside).
Upper hull:

I only replaced the proposed plastic mesh with some spare PE (Tiger II engine grids)
Sides:

A lot of putty was needed because of ejector pin marks and the fender location holes.
Mudguards:
They demand a lot of work as the vehicle which inspired this build has rounded mudguards with a rib running along the bottom.

The OOb part in the background and the modified part in the foreground.
Rear door:

I improved the Verbadkasten (first aid box) fitting system.
The first aid box itself was imporved with the addition of locks and hinges.
I still have to glue the episcope on.
The rest of the build should not take long.
So far, I really enjoy this build.
